Via Ferrata

Tignes & Val d’Isère:
A must-do activity in this region!

Via Ferrata is a variation on rock climbing over natural rock faces. They follow pre laid routes - wires, pegs, ladders, ropes - so that no special skills are required; and Tignes and Val d’Isère is famous for its Via Ferrata! So impressive are its scenic routes, that they attract visitors from all over Europe just to experience these impressive rock faces and mountain formations.

Via Ferrata - Val d'Isère

  • Cost: €55 (adult & child)
  • 3 Hrs (half day +) 
  • Ages 11-12+ (with a head for heights!) 
  • Run in groups of 6-8
  • Helmets, harnesses & equipment provided

Via Ferrata are protected climbing routes with fixed climbing aids, like ladders, rungs, wire ropes, rope bridges. They consist of assisted walks with easy to moderate climbs depending on the level you choose. You will only require a moderate fitness and no special skills and you can choose from three levels to suit your taste, each offering sensational views. You will enjoy the activity with other Alpine Elements guests, just so long as you don't have a fear of heights!

Participation conditions

  • Wear suitable sportswear, trainers or boots; a windbreaker, snack and water
  • Bring your hotel packed lunch
  • All safety equipment is provided (harness and safety lines)
  • Children are welcome from 12 years old
  • No climbing experience required
  • This is not an activity for those scared of heights and ledges!
  • Participants need to be sporty, in good physical health.

Getting there

The Via Ferrata is in La Daille, Val d'Isère is a short drive from our hotel in Tignes Les Brévières. You can take the free minibus shuttle to Val d'Isère which leaves from Les Brévières and runs every hour. The shuttle is free and the stop is an easy 5 min’ walk from our hotel.
